SRFACS Middle School Charter Petition
The letter below, along with 336 signatures of support, was submitted to the Santa Rosa City Schools Superintendent and Board on January 13th. Thank you to those who signed the petition letter and for supporting the effort to restore the 7th and 8th grade program to the SRFACS Charter!
Dear President Sheffield, SRCS Board Directors, and Superintendent Trunnell,
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the SRCS students, families, schools, and community.
The Santa Rosa French-American Charter School (SRFACS) community is grateful that such a unique public school experience is offered in Santa Rosa City Schools.
We are asking you to please restore the middle school option for the SRFACS Charter. Timing is urgent as 6th grade families are already deciding what middle school to attend and many SRFACS students leave SRCS annually in search of continuing their language immersion education. There are no options for a middle school like this currently available in our district. We encourage the district to consider a pathway for a TK-12th grade language immersion and International Baccalaureate program in Santa Rosa City Schools with an elementary option at SRFACS, a middle school option at Slater, and high school IB option at Montgomery.
Please consider this request to establish an accredited French middle school program within the SRCS District and blazing this trail to benefit the Santa Rosa City Schools and Sonoma County community!
Thank you,
Santa Rosa French American Charter School Parents, Guardians and School Community
